“My Country, Africa”: interview w/ Eve Blouin
Block Report Radio interviewed Eve Blouin, the daughter of the legendary late Pan Afrikanist organizer Andree Blouin, author of “My Country, Africa” which was recently republished after the release of the documentary, “Soundtrack of a Coup d’etat”. Eve talked about her mother’s early life, and the pain and trauma that launched her into the Pan Afrikan Revolution.
In this interview we discussed her mother being a close comrade and political advisor to the revolutionary leaders: President Ahmed Sekou Ture of Guinea, as well as a speech writer and Chief of Protocol under Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba of The Democratic Republic of the Congo. Eve discussed their lives in exile in Europe, after the assassination of Patrice Lumumba. She also talked about the mind-state of her mother politically when she passed on. This interview discusses the life of the great Pan Afrikanist organizer Andree Blouin, and it is an important story to know, for anybody serious about studying Pan Afrikan resistance. .
