Linn Washington

Recently I interviewed Temple University Journalism professor and journalist, Linn Washington, about the state of mainstream media. We talked about the Kerner Commission, and how not much has changed in the US media since the report. We talked about the increase of disinformation around equity and foreign policy, especially since the social media age. We talked about the over-representation of pro-zionist lobbyists and veteran Israeli government personnel being political commentators in the mainstream media. We talked about how Black journalist Marc Lamont Hill was fired from CNN because he spoke out in defense of the Palestinians at the UN. We talked about the work of political prisoner and journalist Mumia Abu Jamal and the recent plight of journalist Julian Assange, who was a recently freed political prisoner.
